Vampires: Facts vs. Fiction

There is a lot of stigma and stereotypes about vampires in popular media. However, the condition of vampirism is much different than these dramatic portrayals.

Not all vampires have pale or black fur. Many of us have bright and deeply-saturated pelts. And we don not all talk with a funny accent. We look just like anyone else.

We do not all drink people's blood. It is entirely possible to survive with iron supplements. That is a dangerous stereotype.

We hide in the dark because we are sensitive to light. We are naturally allergic to garlic.

We are not undead. Really, a lot of the old myths just do not live up to reality.

Also, not all of these traits apply to all vampires... some may not have all traits, but these are ones common to vampires.

PSA to young vampires

Do not try to file down your fangs. You might be afraid of people in your life finding out because of them, but it is not worth it. It will just mess up your enamel and if you have to go to the dentist then you will definately be found out. It hurts a lot and does not even work. You will be regretting it while you try to swallow your iron supplements with water, feeling the sting on your teeth. Do not do it.

Does anyone know if the "vampires sparkle in the sun" myth is fact? I am not sure but have been avoiding sunbeams when in the presence of others.

Vampire survival tip: Try to avoid smiling with teeth when around people you are not out as a vampire to. They might notice your pointy canine teeth and start suspecting. Especially try to avoid smiling with teeth when you have to get your picture taken.
